“Gangnam 1970” to be distributed to 11 countries across Asia

Highly anticipated film Gangnam 1970, starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Rae Won as the lead roles, has been confirmed to be pre-sold in 11 countries, including, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and more countries in Asia.

The film received numerous distribution requests from foreign distributors and was initially sold to China and Myanmar prior to its filming and completion.

The Klock Worx is a company that has imported and distributed Korean films such as The Yellow Sea, The Chaser, and Cold Eyesin Japan, while Shanghai New Empire Entertainment and Shenzhen Da Fang Mediaare known for distributing films such as The Thieves, Iron Man 3, Lost and more Korean films in Shanghai, China. As for Hong Kong, Edko Films, which has produced, distributed or invested in the films Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero, and Cold War,bought the copyright of Gangnam 1970. Moreover, Singapore’s Golden Village Pictures,which was in charge of the distribution of films Edge of Tomorrow and Divergent, has also bought the copyright of Gangnam 1970.

Gangnam 1970 did not only receive interest for Lee Min Ho’s first lead role in the big screen but also Kim Rae Won’s comeback action movie. Moreover, Gangnam 1970 is directed by director Yoo Ha who is renown for filming A Dirty Carnival, Once Upon a Time in High School,and more.

Meanwhile, Gangnam 1970 is a gangster film set in the 1970s. It was originally scheduled to be released this month but has been moved to January 2015.
